Nigerian Chef Hilda Baci has made history by breaking the Guinness world record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual. Hundreds of people gathered to cheer her on as she cooked her way into the record books, with politicians, celebrities, and fans of all ages joining in the celebrations (She Cooked from 11th-15th of May 2023).

The previous record of 87 hours and 45 minutes, set in Rewa, central India in 2019 by Indian chef Lata Tondon, was surpassed by Baci after she launched into the competition on Thursday at exactly 4 pm. She cooked tirelessly for four days straight, with no sleep, to create an incredible new record and captivate the world with her remarkable feat.

Guinness World Records is currently reviewing the evidence to officially confirm that Hilda Baci has indeed broken the record. However, the crowd outside the venue was convinced of her success and persuaded her to keep going beyond her initial goal of cooking for 96 hours. In the end, she surpassed this mark by an incredible four hours, becoming the first person on earth to spend such a staggering amount of time cooking.

Hilda Baci, who was born in Nigeria, attributes her passion for cooking to her mother’s culinary techniques. She cooked tirelessly for four days, taking only 30-minute breaks before carrying on with her incredible cooking marathon. Her dedication and perseverance were truly inspiring, as she cooked her way into the history books and captured the hearts of all who witnessed her amazing achievement.

The attempt by Hilda Baci has been a fascinating spectacle, with politicians and celebrities stopping by to cheer her on and show their support. Her record-breaking accomplishment has been a source of pride and inspiration for people all over the world. We salute her for her remarkable achievement!
